This month felt simultaneously like it flew by and was the longest month ever. Maybe it was coming off the holidays and extra days off of work in December, but I’m finally finding my groove in the new year. Read on for some useful information and good vibes from every corner of the web.
Live Well
Anything that offers data-backed evidence to do something catches my attention, and I love me a good infographic, so this piece of what time of day to do everything from checking twitter to asking for a pay raise was a fun little read.
There is a lot of advice out there about finding happiness, and I’ll admit, a lot of it feels hokey to me, but I was intrigued by this article because these were very unique ideas and different than anything I had ever read.
Work Smart
Everyone has been put in a difficult work situation at one point or another. I remember vividly when my colleague at my old law firm took credit for something I did and I clammed up and wasn’t ready or able to respond in front of my boss that the idea had actually been mine. This article goes through a few relevant work situations, ranging from the minor to the very serious, and provides tangible ways of handling them.
Part of growing in your career and in your industry is about building your brand. It takes time and effort, but I liked this overview on becoming a thought leader to as I continue to pursue my goals and build my brand.
I loved this advice from Oprah Winfrey about making decisions about your career. I have struggled for most of my adult life with figuring out what to do for a living and worrying when it doesn’t go as planned. This advice is spot on and something I have focused on recently, which is helping me feel both in control and on the right track.
Play Hard
I’ve been following this blog almost since its inception nearly 10 years ago, and they have so much great content, but one of my favorite new(ish) features is The List of things to do, eat, read, watch, etc. It’s an interesting mix of content that always introduces me to something new.
